Superb

Little Paradise in the Bush
We had a great time in this wonderful, uniquely decorated lodge. Every day, new furnishings were discovered that had been passed down from generation to generation for decades. Each part has its own story and Ritha also told us some interesting stories.
Ritha and Willi were such warm hosts, everything was prepared with so much love and the breakfast table in the morning was just unforgettable. You sit outside and the kudus, zebras, wild boars and mangoes come by and watch. What an experience.
Dinner also has a very special atmosphere. You sit in a circle, the campfire burns in the middle and the food is announced with drums and African singing.
Wielewaal is a hidden gem, in the middle of Marloth Park and on the way there, we met many giraffes and antelopes on the street. It is just under half an hour from the Crocodile Bridge Gate to the Kruger Park.
We had a fantastic, relaxing stay, and we left this place with many unforgettable impressions, thank you very much for that.

Beautiful and warm hospitality by Willie and Retha
The most beautiful, eclectic and lovingly decorated lodge in an estate teeming with free roaming wildlife. We enjoyed amazing meals prepared by Retha and staff, and the best hospitality and welcome from Willie. This was the best place to arrive to after a long flight with kids. Location was a close 30 minutes to Kruger’s Crocodile Gate. Besides that we enjoyed time simply hanging around the lodge, having drinks, and watching wildlife stroll by.
Very nice lodge, lots of wild animals nearby incredible encounter The hosts are very nice, welcoming and helpful. A memorable place for families with children as well as for a romantic getaway. To do and redo, an address to share.
Mix the Majorelle garden colors of Marrakech and the safari history of South Africa and you find the quaint and lovely Wielewaal Lodge. I stayed for two nights. Arrived Friday, had them set up a great one-day Kruger safari for Saturday, and left Sunday. I came here because of the splash of colors, design, ambiance, high ratings, and closeness to Kruger. It did not disappoint. The hosts are lovely, flexible and attentive. The meals were tasty, plentiful and presented beautifully. Particularly loved the different seating areas and the animals that visited during breakfast. They will pick you up at Komatipoort at a reasonable price if you don’t have a car. Highly recommend.
Only place I’ve ever been where the actual place is 100 times more beautiful than the pictures.
From the minute we arrived we were treated to 5* service A real hidden gem!!!
The accommodation, location & food – attention to detail is off the charts!!!
R&W & team you went the extra mile in all aspects and our kids even got invited every evening to watch the chef cook up a storm in the kitchen
Thanks for making us forget all our troubles back in the real world, while we bathed in such warmth and hospitality of your establishment
We will definitely be spreading the word to all far and wide – a must stay bush getaway 🙂
If there is one place that we will come back to time and time again, it will be Kruger Wielewaal Restcamp. Our stay has been absolutely tremendous. The owners, Retha and Willie, are both beautifully warm hearted ppl and made sure that we had everything we needed. You can see how much time and effort has been invested in this little gem in the Bush. The tent we stayed in was amazing, very well sealed off and made sure that no monkeys can get in, also very clean and neat, and the bed very soft. The decor well chosen to suite the theme. U can see that Lots of time was spent on thinking of the smaller details. Make sure you bring some extra veggie off cuts or animal feed pallets to attract the animals to your tent. Amazing food all round. The bfsts decorated so beautifully and while you eat surprised by all different kinds of animals. The staff are so very friendly, one can see how proud they are to be working for these 2 wonderful ppl. All the relaxation areas are neatly set up and well placed in and around the whole lodge. Newly built swimming pool was finished during our stay and brought such a holiday feel to the outside. We had some issues with booking game drives with another company, but Willie was very helpful in assisting us with booking a private full day game drive to KNP via their own source. You will not go wrong in choosing Kruger Wielewaal, this is by far the best place we have stayed at and will definitely recommend this as the ultimate place to stay at to our friends and family who wants to relax and enjoy nature at its best. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. See u soon.
More than 10points! This restcamp is amazing! The best in our 10 days trip around Kruger! The tent was always clean and the food is just awesome! The hosts are soooo caring and helpful, thank you so much for this wunderful stay!
Everything was beyond our expectations. I have stayed in the area before but this was a very unique and special experience that won’t be forgotten.
Fantastic food. Friendly staff. Amazing location near the Crocodile River. Retha and Willie are the kindest, most warm hearted and giving hosts we had the pleasure of meeting.
Host and hostess gave me and all guests personal attention to make sure we had everything we needed. The place was like a museum and a botanical garden, combined.
Good wifi. Good food. Price includes breakfast and dinner.
We had a wonderful stay! Everything (from room to dinner and breakfast) was perfect. Never experienced such hospitality before. So sad, we only stayed for one night.
We stayed 3 days with Retha and Willie during our honeymoon and it was pretty special! The lodge is inside Marloth Park and the installation are really comfortable and well conserved. All meals served were kindly prepared by a real Chef (Retha) and were delicious. We even asked for a traditional breakfast and Willie prepared us a special brai (barbecue)! Everything was made to make us feel as in our home, from the hospitality of making your bed to sleep while we were having dinner from the open bar that allowed us to pour ourselves our beer or wine. From the first day we already had a special experience by feeding gushbacks, kudus and impalas with our hands in the backyard. If we ever get back to a Kruger experience, we would definitely stay with Retha and Willie again!
A great personal experience. The host is wonderful and really takes great care of her guests. The food was great and in general the place has a very distinctive character. Fully recommend it.
Wow! From the setting to the decor to the food to the staff to the whole experience WOW!!! Rietha and Willie pulled out all the stops what an amazing way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Will definitely be back with more peeps.
Very cozy and personal African rest camp. Dinners on the brai with a fire added to the atmosphere. Close to crocodile bridge entrance into Kruger National Park. The hosts are delightful and accommodating and will get you anything you want. There is a honesty bar with a variety of beer, wine and liquors.
The attention to detail that has gone into the interior and exterior decoration of the facility. The food was excellent. Not only did it taste great, but also beautifully presented.
Retha and Willie are absolutely perfect hosts. You feel like you are visiting friends. Got some of my best Afrikaans cuisine inspirations from Retha – Bobotie – Peach Chutney 🙂
If you plan to visit Kruger-Park and you are looking for the perfect stay not far from the park’s gate this is the place to go.
Kruger Wielewaal Restcamp is a little guesthouse in Marloth park (10km from Kruger gate). The huts are nicely decorated (in British colonial style – a reminder of a gentler age without technology where you are invited to sit in a comfy chair and read or have a glass of wine). Beds are very comfortable with a lot of pillows. Retha and Willie make you feel like being at home or visiting good friends. They are always ready to help you. Retha is a great cook and she prepares excellent South African dishes using high quality ingredients. Meals are served on tables full of fine accessories – china, silver and crystal. A lot of plants and flowers around…What a vacation!
Thank you Retha, thank you Willie.
Romantic atmosphere, incredible to experience bushveld wildlife right on your doorstep, fantastic South African cuisine and beds so comfortable you won’t be want to get up in the morning, never mind leave to go home.. Retha goes over and above to make you feel like you belong, it’s like visiting old friends and being treated like royalty. We were heart broken to leave. Do yourself the best favor and book to stay here, you won’t regret it!!
Best hosts I have ever had! Allways ready to help and extremely nice. They played a big role in making my stay at kruger one of the best experiences I have ever had!
The hosts were just more than lovely, super helpful, caring and experienced!! The location is just perfect to explore Krüger! The food was the best we ate so far – with dinner and barbecue directly at the fire! How can this be topped?! Just go there, you will be just as amazed as we are!! Thank you so much Reeta and Willie for this unforgettable experience!!
Lovely host, beautifully decorated, you feel at home directly. Little museum, lots of style. Superb fresh cooked food. Regret that we could only stay for one night! Good for visiting Kruger.
Everything was superb, Retha, her husband & staff are wonderful people. Rethas home is her life & passion. I would recommend her guest house to so many, those who can appreciate her attention to detail, creativity & warmth will have the most unique & traditional African stay. Her Food is phenomenal, she makes so much effort to provide traditional afrikans meals, presented with restaurant quality. We felt at home here & very safe, Retha is also knowledgeable of all the animals which visit her back garden (The bush) and of marloth park.
We will definitely be staying again with our family and friends.
Funky eclectic home. Comfortable. Staff and owner extremely friendly and more than willing to help with any outside activities. Nice place to relax and watch the animals roam in the back yard, or stroll to river and watch them come to drink from Kruger.
Without any competition the best stay in marloth and the kruger area. The stay with this host is an experience in itself. The food was beautifully prepared with different flavors and table settings to match the three course meals at dinner made from scratch. Spending the night at this host felt like walking in to the movie set of a british colonial adventure movie with an african touch. The room was splendid as well. The staff catered to your every need effortlessly. The gamedrive recommended and booked by the host with sentashya safaris was extraordinary. This host helped us not only with booking a safari but also with everything from our transfer from Joburg to booking a flight down to the cape. She also answered any inquiry we had and made us feel very safe in every way possible. Wildlife in Marloth park is almost as varied as that of Kruger and therefore it is better value for your money to stay with this host and let her arrange safari for you than to spend half your budget staying inside Kruger park and still experiencing less.
Would definitley recommend!
